The meeting was called to order at 6:38 PM by the pres= ident Chuck Needham.

ADOPTION OF THE JANUARY 04, 2010 MINUTES

BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

 

- Alvin Willard stated that Steve Polyblank has a copy of the contract and we are just waiting for him to return it sig= ned.

- The Recreation Center idea is now = being discussed at the city level. When asked about the time line Alvin Willard <= /p>

suggested it would be compl= eted in 2 or 3 years.

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

GREENS

 

- Budget is $10,000.00 less than last year.

- Broken equipment was repaired last season and not ex= pected to be an issue this year.

- We have more people trained in reel sharpening for t= his year.

- Clarence Sparling has volunteered to conduct repairs if necessary.

- Brian Flaxey modified th= e tabled motion AMotio= n to rehire Yvan Rivard = with a modest increase in SalaryAMotio= n to rehire Yvan Rivard =3Ds n= ight meals.

- Will try to reduce accounting costs from $7,700.00 f= rom last year to $5,000.00 this year.

 

TOURNAMENTS

 

- Ideas were discussed on ways to promote the Civic.

- One suggestion was to have a pro division.

- We could provide entertainment for Friday and Saturd= ay evenings.

- How do we get more members to participate in our tournaments?

- Tournament dates to be finalized as soon as possible= .

- We could create a tournament summary page on the web= site.

 

ADVERTISING

 

- Go on Morning chat to discuss, need support from mem= bers, Recreation Center,

OPP watching for snowmobiles that = are running over the greens.

- Super Bowl party on.

- Link to Golf Town to be removed = from web site.

 

PLANNING

 

- We have been approached by the New Lake Temiskaming = Loop Tour Project.

 This is a project to promote local businesses in our region.

If it will promote the Golf Course at no cost, I will continue to participate in this initiative.

- We were also asked if we were interested in A Private Social Network For Your Club.

This would be similar to Face Book and it was thought = that was a little ambitious for our club.

- We are now able to conduct analysis on the web site.= This will tell us not just the number of hits

that we get but as well a l= ot of information about who is visiting our web site like,

how long they are on the si= te, which site did they visit previously, are they local or from out of town.

- I am just waiting for the Recreation Center file to be passed over to the planning committee.

- Haileybury and New Liskeard combined membership option will not be offer= ed this year.

- Gabe Falardeau has resig= ned from the board of directors.

- IPM registration fee was not paid last summer.

- Rebate for snow mold.
