CALL TO ORDER

 

The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM by the president Chuck Needham.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

GREENS

 

- Irrigation water testing results received and everything seems good.


- Greens are coming back well, tees fertilized and verticut, fairways being fertilized.

- Greens staff being trained in all areas.

- Sodded in front of 18 green.

- Entrance, parking lot being cleaned up and manicured, flowers being planted to improve first impressions.

- Gilles Lefebvre offered to umbrella and prune trees.

- Corey working out well, seems very knowledgeable, working well with Ivan and crew.

- Garbage behind # 1 green is an eyesore.

- Gabe to check prices of port-a-potties (buy or rent), need new location on south nine as it is too wet for access with Phippens truck.

- Check budget regarding flow meter and spraying licenses.

 

PRO SHOP

 

- Leased photocopier has arrived.

- New computer and handicap program arrived and downloaded.

- Vacuum cleaned thoroughly and working, no need to purchase new one at this time.

- Ordered new baskets for range picker, cost $65.00 X 6 split baskets.

- Pro shop sales down but Father=s Day sale a week later this season.

- Washing machine for range balls broken, found one for $100.00 delivered.

- Father=s Day special will run from Thursday to Sunday.

- Conversation arose about pro shop scheduling and training. Bill Johnston felt they were over scheduled but Alvin Willard commented that wages were down $2,000.00. Why, no adults hired? None apply or will work for minimum wage. Issues with one employee have been addressed by Steve, warnings have been issued.

- Discussion on shortage of carts during tournaments and busy days. No carts available for marshals during tournaments and we make no profit when we borrow from Haileybury. Cost $75.00 per trip to deliver and pick up.

 

CLUBHOUSE

 

- Chuck Needham to join clubhouse committee.

 

FINANCES

 

- Clubhouse the same.

- Course wages down.

- Pro Shop the same, membership down $15,000.00.

- Accounts receivable in good shape.

- Accounts payable, Mr Bandy requesting his cheque.

 

TOURNAMENTS

 

- Early bird 2-man up in entries.

- Senior day up, weather related as was washed out last year.


- Ladies Audrey Nightingale up in teams as well.

- Civic invitations, 150 given out at 2-man

- Smitty=s tournament to start at noon to allow membership some playing time.

 

ADVERTISING

 

- Father=s Day sale ad in paper.

 

MEMBERSHIP

 

- Still coming in slowly, approximately 250 as of June 15.

- Promote 10 green fees for $270.00.

- Other green fee deals discussed but was mentioned that it could make buying a membership not an option.

NEW BUSINESS

 

- Digitized logo to be e-mailed to directors.

- Insurance letter regarding things needed to be done for coverage given to committee heads.

- Discussion in changing #13 to a par four and #18 to a par five because of people being hit on #13 tee.

- Will meet with city to ask for help with regards to taxes. Letter will be sent to CAO and Alvin Willard, Bill Johnston, Chuck Needham will attend meeting on NLGC behalf.

- Plumbing bill to bring water into clubhouse to be paid by us.

- Gabe Falardeau mentioned putting ads on carts.

- Junior lessons; July 8 - Aug 26, 1 PM - 2 PM.

 

Motion to pay Al Jamieson $200.00 for running the junior lessons.

- Mike Bonnah to call Ben Drainville with regards to web-site maintenance.

- Kathy Denomme paid for hole sponsor.
